In Bloom
Last year Cleethorpes was awarded the highest award –RHS Britain in bloom Gold Award and won the RHS Britain in Bloom Coastal Category for its fabulous garden displays, both residentially and in public areas. The promenade gardens, in particular, are a sight to behold. The judges are also looking at the resort as a whole – cleanliness of the streets, quality of facilities etc are all taken into account. This year plans to be bigger and better and more beautiful than ever before.
Grimsby won the East Midlands in Bloom Gold award and the East Midlands in Bloom Small City Category.
Cleethorpes and Grimsby have several superb garden centres. Most have lovely restaurants and gift shops.
The competition is on for this year and Cleethorpes, Grimsby and nearby Immingham have entered In Bloom 2013. Each town will be working hard to create the very best entries.
Come along and be thrilled by the beautiful designs and displays of floral excellence throughout. Look for the "3 owls" - wooden chainsaw sculptures placed around Cleethorpes, representing the Cleethorpes coat of arms. There is also a wonderful roundabout at the bottom of Issacs Hill which has 3 wooden owls taking pride of place.
